On the Move (again and hopefully for the last time)

All ARFHS Collection and the Albany History Collection have been packed up and placed in storage. We are on the move back to the Albany Public Library, BUT not quite yet. A new mezzanine floor is being build, due to be finish before the end of 2020. In the meantime we are without a physical location, however online research is still available.
COVID-19 - Update 3 (3 October 2020)

ARFHS - Commencement of meetings, Library closed (we are moving),
and Research goes online (again)

To All Members and Family History Researchers,

  • ARFHS has again commenced having our monthly meeting, however we only have only one left for 2020 year (see details above).

  • The main focus for the society is our move from the Vancouver Center back to the Albany Library. We will be moving back with the Albany Library History Collection, into the library, on a new mezzanine floor. Currently this mezzanine floor is about to be built and finished by the end of 2020. However, both the Albany Library History Collect and the ARFHS Collection has been required to box-up all resources and put them into storage. This means that face-to-face support with research help will not be available for the rest of 2020.

  • Email-based research support will continue. Members and Family History Researchers can contact a researcher for assistance using the ARFHS email  contact page. Please make sure you read the RESEARCH HELP page for types of assistance available and cost.

Hopeful with the move back to the Albany Library, this will make it a lot easier, for those who need support, to access it.

If you have any concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus please refer to the Department of Health at the following link - https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert.

If you have any queries or questions in regards to the ARFHS matters, please email them using our society’s email contact page and we will do our best to answer you as quickly as possible

Welcome

Welcome to the wonderful, fascinating and often frustrating, world of Genealogy. We may find all manner of interesting ancestors, whether they be people of influence or the working man. Whichever they may be, their discovery leads us into another world where we have to learn about THEIR lives so that we can better understand what has happened in OURS.

To this end, our Society has been helping people research and build their family trees for 32 years and over that time, we have promoted and encouraged the pursuit of family history.

We are happy to assist with your Research or Look Ups for a modest fee.
